Why Sophia Space?
Data centers on Earth are exhausting grid capacity in high-demand areas, leading to increased costs and degrading quality of life for local communities. Sophia TILEs are solar powered.
Earth observation imagery and sensor data downlinked to Earth currently suffer long analysis times due to bandwidth constraints. Sophia TILEs process that data in orbit and relay near–real‑time results to defense and emergency responders.
High-performance AI workloads generate excessive heat, requiring water-intensive cooling solutions on Earth while current LEO compute growth is limited due to space radiator requirements. Sophia TILEs have proprietary thermal load balancing hardware plus software.
Expanding data centers on Earth is increasingly difficult due to regulatory and environmental issues. Deployed at 600-1,000 KM in a sun-synchronous orbit, Sophia ODCs will place data centers in their natural habitat, space.
